Hes just battered the shit out of Jeremy Horn and after the fight, he declared that he and Dan Henderson are THE best middleweights in the world. No mention of current UFC MW King Rich Frnanklin apparently ha ha. I would have loved to see that fight, if Matt could pass through the early strikes and go to ground he would beat Rich handsomely IMO. In his fight against Rampage i think he proved his worth, since loads of people think he actually WON that fight

I'd like to see him and Franklin tie up; he's impressed me lately, but I think Franklin's striking would tip the scales pretty decisively.

thats what im thinking. Rich is an excellent striker and keeps getting better. He destroyed Tanner twice and that isnt exactly a stroll in the park for even the best guys in the division. But if Matt could somehow get through the striking and clinch then he has an excellent chance of getting Rich on the ground. from there i would say Linland would tie him up and win. Shame he was released before he could fight the MW poster boy!
Makes me wonder if Dana was protecting one of his main guys, afterall Matt was the number 1 contender when he was released

Once Lindland has you on your back it's over, plus his ground game improves with every fight. His striking is still a little sloppy, but all he really uses it for is to set up a takedown and it's over from there. He is definitely a top 3 guy, Dan dropped a notch or two since losing to misaki. I could see Filho dryhumping Lindland to a decision though. Lindland would beat Ace for sure, So will Anderson Silva on October 14.

Evan Tanner is a better version of Matt Lindland. Rich Franklin smashed Evan up twice. I think Rich would do the same to Lindland.
-
i think Lindland is better then Tanner, did you see him fight against rampage.

Evan Tanner is a better version of Matt Lindland.
You really think so?

Yes. Lindland and Tanner used to train together. Matt has better wrestling even though Evan's is quite good, but Tanner has better stand up and submissions imo. Tanner has done better against common opponents (i.e. David Terrell). It was too bad the UFC dropped Lindland after promising him a title shot for some time. Evan was the middleweight champion of the UFC for a while.

Lindland is probably a better fighter now then few years ago dont know about tanner.

Lindlands attached striking from the clinch makes him extremely tough.
