Any predictions for this weekend's North American's?
If Leo Ingram is in the show, which I believe he is - look for him to secure a pro card at this show.
Video of Abbas Khatami at graphicmuscle.com (http://graphicmuscle.com) who will be competing this weekend looks good but I don't think anyone can match Ingram this show.

Bob is jerome doing this show?
-
From what I hear Ben White looks unreal
-
Ingram should've been pro almost 10 years ago so he's certainly long overdue.

No offense but we heard the same thing on him going into Jr. Nationals.
-
Ingram should be a shoe in, i don't see how he can lose save coming in completely off.

White supposed to be a Heavy or Super? Is he still working with Freeman?
Ingram is freaky big but kind of an ugly, rough, worn, old looking physique...IMO.
I for one would like to see somebody who is not "supposed" to win take it. This handing the trophy to the next guy in line crap is getting old!

i agree with that 100%!!! award the best physique, not the guy whos "turn" it is.
-
just see the guy who is bald, in his mid 30s who has paid his dues for 8 years in the NPC and who got robbed last time. That's usually who wins.
-
Well I'll be there in the Heavyweight class. I'll definately be better than I've ever been. We'll see how it all pans out. I would be suprised as well if Leo didn't take it. I mean I think Ergas is great and all and should of won Nats last year but they gave it to him at the USA's and I'm sure it's cause of him not getting it at Nats. Leo could be in the same boat.

I think we both know someone on your client roster who might feel they fit the bill you describe, but didn't win. ;)

It happens often that someone wins who isn't "supposed" to. Look at Jr. Nationals no one had that cat pegged to win before the show. Look at Fahkri at last year's USAs - not many knew his name and he was the best conditioned guy in the show and took home a pro card.
Ingram should get the nod, not because "he's paid his dues", I think that line is a load of shit. I think he will win because he is big and freaky with the most complete physique in the Supers that we've seen.

He needs to come in shape ... The muscle is there however he had some water on him ....

Ok....good examples...it does "happen". Just wished that the shows were ALWAYS judged that day and decision made based on who is THE BEST on THAT DAY. If it is a size contest only....Ingram will win. If it is a balance of size, symetry, insane conditioning, presentation and marketability....he wont. If people want to go the "Paid his dues route" (which I also think is BS), I dont think he even fits that bill....really does not have that extensive of a contest history and has only been in the Top 5 on three occassions. There are much more seasoned and successful competitors!
I have no predictions....dont even know who is competing...but I always route for the underdog.

I am sick of the bullshit pay your dues and politics. Judge whats on the stage that day!
-
maybe someone out there has access to a competitor list...... can post it.
-
Just for the record, I never meant to imply that Ingram should be rewarded a pro card simply because he's "paid his dues." I just meant that he's had a national-caliber physique for quite a while and probably could've earned his pro card years ago... but for whatever reasons he just hasn't put it all together yet on the big day, when it counts. I'd like to see him win at the North Americans.

Well, if that's not done on the pro level, I doubt it will be done in the amatuers.

The comment isn't directed toward anyone...just general frustration with the idea and the reality that sometimes that is allowed to occur.

I couldn't agree more...
And I always hate it when somebody says you need to "knock out the champ" to beat him - like you need really beat him badly and by a lot to prove you won. What crap. You can beat a champ by one point and still win...
-

Yeah and he finished second behind the overall champ. So what is your point? I know Ben and he works and diets his ass off.

He didn't have an easy win over Sean Jones in his weight class and my point is he hasn't lived up to the hype anyone has tried to give him. I'm not saying he's a bad bodybuilder but he isn't the next phil heath as proclaimed before Jr. Nationals.
I know hundreds of guys who work and diet their asses off. What's your point?

Mark my words, the winner of the Super Heavyweights will be Stokely Palmer.

He's a big dude but after nearly 10 years on the national level he has yet to win his weight class much less an overall.
