I just posted this on another thread but I want to make sure everyone sees it........
I was backstage and I'm pretty sure, actually 100 percent sure that I saw when Ronnie was told he had 2nd, I have a picture of it as well.
It went like this......
- Ronnie comes to side stage to talk to some black dude who was back there, this was just after they called out the top 6
- he called the guy over and bent down to hear what the guy said
- Ronnie then got up and made a face at him (see my picture)
- Then ronnie was motioning over to where where his family sat, he kept giving them the thumbs down/fingers across throat (indicating it is over), and he was also doing the "you're out" hand sign that baseball guys do.
- He kept doing these things over and over again.
- His composure completely changed once he did this.
I challenge anyone else who was backstage and saw this to speak up and back this up. Or if anyone saw Ronnie motioning to his family.
-
No offense but those photos don't show jack except some midget's head glare.
It was clear Ronnie knew he didn't win by his body language on stage though, no one will dispute that who saw the show.

Just check ronnie's face in that first picture, the bald head is the guy ronnie was talking to. I've read a few times tonight people saying that Gustavo tipped him off. I saw if for myself and it wasn't Gustavo. Why else would Ronnie be trying so hard to motion over and warn his family before the announcement?
-
This is your proof lol?
-
...dudes, ask yourselves the obvious question...WHY would they tell Ronnie beforehand?....HOW could he benefit from that knowledge?...it's NO different than it was in 2001, Ronnie was most likely in fact doing that "peace sign" thing telling Jay he won....but alas, we know how that turned out.
You're trying to incite a "fix" was in...something along those lines. Well, if that's the case, why tell Ronnie before?...why tell an 8 time Mr O, dieted down, pissed off, that he was going to LOSE???...it makes no sense, dude.
All this stuff going on, Ronnie's antics, just makes Ronnie look like a sore loser, and a poor example of a champion. It's great to be champ, but that's not what MAKES you a champ. He's so far handling his loss with less than sportsmanlike and representative of his Mr O reign. THAT'S whats unsettling....Ronnie should tread carefully lest he ruin his image of the last 8 years...we can all understand losing, but a bad loser? Pathetic.

haha maybe Ronnie knew he was off and Cutler was on? No couldn't be. The Ronnie riders are in full effect baby!

..."warn" his family of what???...to go get the car ready to beat the traffic rush home?...please, this is hilarious. "The Baldheaded Man of the Olympia"...I can see it now, taking over the 97 Ninja Attack as the biggest bodybuilding urban legend of the decade...
-
it doesn't mean a fix was in, it just means that people were buzzing backstage about it. it was huge news. Gustavo might have overheard 'ronnie lost!' and quickly relayed the info to ronnie, just to be the first to break the spirit-crushing news :)
-
Well....it not exactly right that Ron found out before the announcement.
It's not really fair for Jay either

Hope you're not an investigative reporter for the Titus and Ryan trial or we'll be seeing Craig back on the boards in '07.
-
The competitors learn about their fate all the time before the decision. Ronnie in 1998 knew before the call was made, as Flex admitted in one of his interviews

& Ron still fell on the ground & sobbed on cue?

Ohhh here we go!!!!!
I just wanted to let you guys know what I saw from side stage, and how I thought it was odd. I've spoken to a few other pro's who saw the same thing. Take it for what you will, anyone else back there who saw that will agree with me!

I'm not disagreeing with you that it happened or not, it probably did. Just laughing at your "proof" in the photos.

Lift what was your unbiased view of the show?

Look it was no fix. Could Ronnie have won? Yes. He was still bigger than Jay in almost every bodypart but forget about these pictures. if you watched the video of both of them that's how you can really tell the conditioning and ronnie was way off. his legs looked pretty messy, very big with bad looking lines. he looked flatter than his best years as well. Jay was dead on though he didn't have bigger arms or legs and is a little blockier than ronnie his conditioning was much better. his shoulders and chest together from the front in my opinion make him look much more jacked too.

I had Ronnie winning in prejudging and argued with several people after the show about it. They said Jay would win, I said what show were you watching? I was wrong and others were right. Nearly every competitor looked better on Saturday night. Jay looked better on Saturday night for sure. Ronnie reportedly dropped 12-15lbs from Friday - Saturday.
It was a great show - lots of upsets and in the grand scheme I am glad Jay won. He's a good spokesman for bodybuilder, a genuine nice guy and will bring more to the industry then Ronnie has, in my opinion.
My suprise was Melvin Anthony backing up his smack and finally delivering. Also Vic Martinez overcoming the adversity of his mother's death and coming in his best ever.
Ronnie's routine at the night show was theeeee best entrance ANYONE has ever had, at least at any of the shows I've been too. It was AWESOME! That is entertainment and added some entertainment to the show.
I'll be doing a full report and rundown on the show for bb.com. Look for it on their site this week.

We have not agreed in the past. I respect this post.

Given that he's won 8 it would be pretty safe to say that he knows everybody at the show. If he wanted to find out he could and obviously he did.
I was at the friday show and he looked like he was waiting to peak Saturday which he did. That was the thing that killed his condition. I thought he was good enough to win just because Jay didn't impress me.
-
Why do that guy have to open his bitchy mouth and ruin the party? I'll have him turn into a white asshole
-

**gulp**

On the "other" board it was said that he knew before also. They didn't mention the part about him being told but they did mention the part about him doing the thumbs down and the throat cut motions. It's very obvious he knew he was going to lose. Whoever told him should be fired.

Jay said in his interview that someone had tipped him off already....AND that the crap that Ronnie was muttering on stage when he was turning his back was something like - "You won it"...or "I lost ".....Jay wasn't sure.....
-
Ronnie knew. How he knew is irrelevant... IMHO.
-
Ronnie was at prejudging and he had to know that Jay or Victor was probably going to beat him. Should have stayed in the 280s making him still among the heaviest compared to Jay and Victor and would have been holding less water and won the show.
-
White Jay won.. and the Black Ronnie Lost. Sorry to see him go, and yes he knew before hand, he lost no dout. Oh well. There si always next year.
-
Jay was black for the show.
That was his secret weapon.
-
When all is said and done, these guys wouldn't be 200 pounds ripped if they were off drugs.
Hahaha I was waiting for you to say something like that
-
Dave Henry's?
shawn sneaking backstage.
-
well, let's be fcuking fair about this whole thing. Kevin Levrone should have beat ronnie a couple years ago. but, instead, ronnie received a gift. Cutler should have had his 3rd sandow by now. but, finally, and finally the weiders decided it's time to give the sandow to a new face...
-
People talk and when the news is "Interesting" word is bound to get out.
I am a Ronnie fan, but Jay looked better from my nose bleed seats :)
But it did seem by Ronnie's body language that he new he was second

hah, true.
