Someone posed a question about the cost of getting the internet connection set up at the Venue...
At worst, the high-speed connection fee should not be more than $1000 or so per day. At best, it could run as little as, well, free. They've paid x-number of dollars for the venue rental...the broadband connection could be included.
That being said, you have to keep in mind that the primary limiting factors are the speed, capacity, and reliability of the internet connection at the broadcast's point of origin in Vegas. I don't know how things were on Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday, the connection at the Orleans (both hotel side and arena side) was spotty all day and I was having to re-establish my connection every few minutes. If the same was happening on Saturday, then that's what killed the quality of the broadcast.
With regards to compensation for those who didn't get what they thought they were paying for, at a minimum, they should receive access to the Video on Demand product once it becomes available. They should also receive the 'official' DVD at no extra cost.
If Hardbody Entertainment is legit and thinking about long-term success, then they will do the right thing here and ensure that you customers come back next year.

Sounds very reasonable.

Thanks Tre!
$1000 a day seems quite reasonable actually. So assuming excluding any licence costs, that it ran them approx $3,000 to offer the webcast they needed about 140 ppl to sign up to break even. From what I can gather online, they definitely hit that mark, and I would assume went well over it.
One problem my dumb little mind has problems understanding is how bb.com offers webcasts for free, and delivers...but hardbody had a $20+ charge and in many cases did not deliver the product.

The reason why the bb.com webcasts always work is because they keep it simple.
I don't want to throw Flex's team under the bus here, but if the connection was good and all the problems were merely the result of production inadequacies on their side, then they need to go above and beyond to compensate those of you who did not get what you paid for. If that was the case (and I do not yet have all the facts...I'm just saying), then you should get this year's VoD and DVD and also next year's webcast as well.
Speaking as someone who produces webcasts for a living, I can say that current technology is optimized for a single camera feed. It sounds simplistic and hokie, I know, but that's what works best right now. If they strayed from this in their attempt to deliver a TV-like 'show', then that would've certainly contributed to the downfall.
