Ben Weider ran the IFBB. Wayne ran the IFBB shows. Manion ran the NPC and was a judge at big IFBB shows.
IFBB was restucturing. Wayne saw an opportunity. Contacted Lorimer/Schwarzenegger about splitting off. Lorimer initially said okay. Wayne thought he had IFBB by the balls because they would control the NOC and the Arnold. Weider got wind of the mutiny and reached out to Lorimer. Probably doubled his pay for the Arnold. Wayne came out blazing with his Pro Division shirts and plans of global domination. Lorimer left him hanging in the wind. IFBB sent Wayne packing. Manion steps up to fill Wayne's old spot while still reaping NPC windfall. Weider, Lorimer, and Manion have a good laugh at outcast Wayne's expense. Wayne plots revenge. Sets out to destroy IFBB by launching PDI anyway. Signs Jack London. IFBB cowers in fear. Signs Lee Priest. IFBB realizes they need to "assert" themselves in an Irish Mafia kind of way. Hire Chick and Shawn Ray as "goons" to intimidate others into remaining "loyal" to organization that doesn't give a crap about them. Stoolies Taylor, Galanti, and TJ run back to IFBB/NPC in fear. NOC goes on and Priest brings home a nice payday. IFBB fears losing more Pros. Try to buy Priest back into the IFBB, but offer isn't right. British NOC goes on and Sami brings home a nice payday. At this point, any IFBB Pro without an endorsement deal that pays more than 25K realizes that PDI is a viable alternative. Priest may not win every show. Many IFBB pros who could beat Sami but couldn't make a dime at an IFBB Pro show.
That's it in a nutshell.
