Some help with DHEA...
« on: December 03, 2006, 08:57:24 AM »
Not too many posts about this...Can anyone who has used this tell me if it works? Like everything else, what I am finding is alot of conflicting information. All of what I read outside of the bodybuilding community says that this stuff should work like Growth Hormone! As far as what I read on here, its quite the opposite...Thanks-

If I'm not mistaken, it's effectiveness is for the over 40-50 crowd whose test levels are on the decline.  No real benefit for the younger guys...

If you a younger adult male..High doses of regular DHEA convert to both Testosterone and estrogen, at a very small degree..DHEA also converts to an insomer of 5AA which can lead to gynomastia...Higher dosages should be avoided period...However, you can choose 7-OXO-DHEA and 7-Hydroxy-OXO-DHEA  as alternatives as these don't convert to active hormones in the body as with the regular dhea..7-OXO and 7-Hydroxy are very good at reducing cortisol and rasing thyroid output..However, any form Of DHEA is far from a grwoth hormone replacement..

The studies I have seen indicate that it it a waste of time and poissibly even counter-productive.  Try a search for evidence on this supplement and if you find something positive let me know.

Palumbo states that using mega doses of DHEA, like 200mg. with DHB will do the trick.  Sci-Fit sells the high does DHEA and the older dudes swear by it.  Just make sure to do some post DHEA therapy.  Any good anti- estrogen formula should counter any side effects you might encounter but so far I've seen none.  Just repeat sales.

I'd still like to see at least one study that suggests a positive benefit from this supplement.  Anyone?

Thanks.  I will take a look at those.  I previously put aside my bottle of DHEA when some studies came out indicating that the supplement was not effective for BB'ing purposes.
