I used to own a African Emperor Scorpion (my brother let it die while I was away for a few months). They also have venom very similar to bees but it is stronger and more painful then being stung by a bee, I was never stung myself while handling it but then again I always held it by the 'tail'. I had a few dreams in which my scorpion escaped but it never happened for real which is good cause my room was a wreck and I would have had trouble finding it without getting stung. Coolest thing about it though was that it glows under blacklights so when I had friends over to party I would play with my bright greenish scorpion.

This is very similar to what my scorpion looked like

Yeah I had one just like that as well, they are more complicted to keep than spiders.

Yes I don't think mine liked the big stereo I had in my room since they rely allot on feeling vibrations to catch prey. I am surprised I was able to keep it alive for the year or so I had it, I never really brought it food but would just go outside and catch crickets myself.
