Sapp vs Sefo "weird" fight
« on: February 23, 2007, 10:23:26 AM »
Well I am no fan of Sapp, but shouldn't he have won this fight? I mean he was destroying Sefo until Sefo hit Sapp wit an irregular knee in the balls. Shouldn't Sefo be desqualified? And why was Sefo being protected by the referee when Sapp was beating the hell out of him? At the beggining of the fight Sefo was afraid of Sapp and wasn't being able to handle such power. It is a shame that such a great fighter like Sefo had to win using illegal knee...

i disagree,i think Ray was going to let Bob punch himself out..maybe it didn't go the way he planned, but come on,Sefo isn't "afraid" of anyone.

I remember first seeing this fight and thinking that Sapp actually learned something from Mo Smith.  He was turning over his kicks, threw a couple of nice knees, the problem was then he got Ray into the corner, he starts throwing looping overhands, not putting together combinaitons, using hammer fists to the back of the head (illegal) and getting GASSED like he always does.  Ray was definitely waiting for Sapp to gas, he was counterpunching out of the clinch prior to the knee.  Sefo is the typical polynesian with a granite chin and heavy hands.  He is quite skilled, though.  (I love the Hunt/Sefo fight)

Hey, if Ray Sefo works you into a position and lands a punch then the fight is over. Look at the second fight against Ruslan Karaev, he was kicking the shit out of him until he got put in a corner. From there Ray delivered the best KO punch ive ever seen
