LEE....question about your article
« on: April 05, 2007, 05:00:39 PM »

Lee I had a question about one of your articles in I read recently in MD.... You were commenting about home ronnie and jay both have block style waists and you thought it was funny how the IFBB has stated that they are looking for a more classis v-taper ...more like the old school. Do you think their honestly looking for a tighter v-taper or is that block muscle look the future of bodybuilding? (in your opinion)

Thanks - Nick

I wonder though with the newbreed coming in such as phil heath if the switch hasn't begun allready I am just worrried that  Jacksons gut is coming outta check and we are seeing guys like silvio who yes has a great physique but it would seem that the distention is part of the game now maybe that should be part of the mandatories not to see the biggest muscle belly but the biggest belly in general

Bodybuilding is driven by it's customer base. The number of people who are willing to pay to see the shows. Currently the number is relegated to mostly homosexuals and fan boys who act like homosexuals. I have nothing against homosexuals, I am simply pointing out my observations of how I see the people who attend most bodybuilding shows. If Bodybuilding as a form of entertainment is to have a future then it must find a new demographic. In order to do this many changes must be made and that includes the physiques of the competitors. In order to reach new demographics the physiques much change in a way so that they are no longer disgusting to most people. This means no more extended stomachs, no more saggy man breasts, no more refrigerator physiques etc. These basic physique changes are just a small part of the overall changes that must be made. Ideally when your average straight male or female sees a professional bodybuilder their response should be "Wow, Impressive!" opposed to "Disgusting!".

Wow..every NPC show ive been too wasnt overrun by homosexuals...Bro your litterally creating the entire fanbase of bodybuilding based on your own idealism. Your acting as if there is some sort of statistical information for the bodybuilding fanbase. and what the fuck does a v-taper have to do with homosexuality...you almost sound a little fruity yourself. Do me and the rest of the bodybulding community a favor and dont speak anymore :)

I go to a few local shows a year and I also don't see the shows being over run by the gay comunity.
The problem is in the eyes of the main stream community body building has a gay stigma attached to it.
Body buildings image does need a major revamp to make it commercially successfull i.e. more main stream.
Some one once said something that I sorta agree with "it is not a sport but a muscle beauty competition"

How can you tell who is homosexual apart from who isn't? When I see a lot of non-bodybuilding guys standing around smiling taking pictures of another guy in a thong then I instantly think homosexual.

I'm not talking about the people on stage. I'm talking about the 140lb guys in the stands who are jumping up to get pictures OF the guys on stage and who all squeal once the bodybuilders do the "Glute pose".

Lee what do you think causes the distention?

is it insulin or growth?
