Training equipment???
« on: August 28, 2007, 06:22:03 PM »
What, if any, equipment do you guys use while training? (belts, wraps, straps, etc...) I dont use anything and was wondering if a weight belt would help my lifts (and physique)? I only use straps once I go over 455 on the deads. Other than that I dont use anything.

The only piece of training equipment I use is gloves. & I only use them about half the time. The gloves I use have wrist wraps on them - I sprained my left wrist about a year or so ago & it still bothers me sometimes.

I'm being serious. Never suffered from a "cock 45"; while loading the plates?

Better safe than sorry.

Plus it prevents my junks from shifting while legpressing.

belt or no belt is an old debate. some swear by it. others claim it does more harm than good. ive yet to figure out who's right  ;)
personally i dont use one. i use chalk, headphones, knee sleeves... thats about it. straps might be a good idea if you feel your grip give away before your back does. some kinda wrist support might be good if you do heavy presses.
but be careful so you dont end up like branch warren. (knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, straps, wrist wrapes, woolen hat etc)

Pretty much the same though I use straps very infrequently, i.e. once a month.

The Ipod is my only mandatory piece of training equipment.  I will use wrist wraps, elbow or knee sleeves if I have pain/swelling there from a sports injury but never to help with a lift.
