What does every one think they spend a month on food? Is it worth trying to eat like a bodybuilder or pack on size when you have no ambitions t compete?

Its up to you really. I love the bodybuilding lifestyle (but i do plan on competing soon) so i would do it regardless of whether or not i was competing. If you can comfortably (financially speaking) pay all the big food bills and for supps, then i don't see why you wouldn't keep at it.

Nothing wrong with wanting to look better and bigger. Though i don't really see the point in juicing if you don't compete, but i haven't done that yet either, so i'm in no position to speak on that matter.

can u afford it or not? thats the question. if u cant, make steps to where u can. if u dont think its worth it, lower the bill and take up fishing. :)

juicing is not only for those who compete. remember, juicing can be low doses too.

i dont think it cost that much. you'd probably live a little cleaner than you otherwise would do (as for less fast food, alcohol, soda, candy etc) so you save money on that

unless you wanna shrink you still need to be at for example 3000 calories and to grow you'll need 300-500 more. so thats like one additional meal per day more than you usually eat NOT trying to pack on size... big deal.

bodybuilder or not you'll still eat breakfast lunch and dinner dontcha... so we're talking 1-2 extra smaller meals not very hard, and not very expensive... the supplement part might be where it gets expensive especially if you do something that last 2 weeks only and you supposed to do it year round... but thats hardy necessary to use that.

i spend about 600 a month on food, that includes when i eat out

when i diet for shows, it goes up to about 8-900 month

you could save money buy buying bulk chicken, tuna, eggs, veggies, and oats..they all come in huge quantities at places like costco.   what you can do for flavor is just buy the big containers of spices that they have and load up your spice cabinet with a wide variety of flavors...that way even though your eating the same shit every day...your not eating the SAME SHIT EVERYDAY. you know?   ..thats how i prefer to do it anyways.

Regular grocery bill - $250 a month.
Sups - $25-40 a month.
Costco - $150 a month.

Just getting a good idea on what people spend, I'm always curious! I do use meds but that costs me 100 per month! I eat out maybe once a wk if that just to give me a cheat meal, don't drink anymore, don't smoke, just waiting for my fiance to get back in states. I can def afford it, just like to budget and get a good idea on what others are spending! Thanks people

shit..i dont pay for my food, my parents do, but i do the grocery shopping(AT LEAST FOR MYSELF)...yesterday i went to the store and got enough food for maybe two, tops three days...cost me 80 bucks for two bags of frozen chicken, 20 cans of tuna, two bags of broccoli wokly, five cartons of liquid egg whites, 4 bananas, 10 apples, 1 bag of lettuce, 3 bags of cayenne papper...one case of water..two things of frozen leaf spinach and one frozen bag of whole okra.

i already purchased a couple big containers of original oats, and some beef earlier on in the week...but those are almost out..

i would say per month its close to a thousand.

You could easily cut that down by buying chicken and tuna in bulk (Costco and Sam's Club both offer this and I've worked it out to very measurable savings compared to frozen and individual cans, respectively), regular eggs instead of whites and separate them yourself and drinking tap water or just buying a filter.

Amen. We only go about once a month & the membership pays for itself after about two or three months.
