Homemade Topical Fat Loss
« on: May 17, 2008, 02:36:35 PM »
I have read some text on forums and on the "science of topical fat loss" site suggesting that some of the action is through localized blood vessel dilation.

Quote
A second, more indirect, mechanism by which Yohimbine can aid lipolysis via the adrenergic system is by increasing peripheral blood flow

Quote
Adipose tissue is known to have rather poor vascularity. When triglycerides are broken down into free fatty acids and glycerol during lipolysis, they must also be transported away from the fat cell or they risk being reincorporated into adipose tissue. Beta receptor activation causes vasodilation, thus increasing blood flow, however, it does not increase enough to remove all of the free fatty acids released during lipolysis (13). Alpha 1 and 2 receptor activation, on the other hand, causes a decrease in blood flow (4, 14). Thus, antagonism of the alpha 2 receptor with yohimbine would be expected to increase blood flow, and thus increase the mobilization and disposal of these FFA's, further aiding fat loss. And, again, the more we can get in the adipose tissue without it reaching the heart and CNS, the better.

Anyway, could one get results from JUST vasodilation?  The "Yohimburn" is a bit spendy (over $80).

I prepared a potent niacin/caffeine topical solution without a "transdermal carrier" for under $10 which does make the area which it is applied to burn slightly and become pretty red and hot from vasodilation a while after being applied, for around an hour.  Is this going to do anything, and would it be worth it to add in some Yohimbine HCL to the solution for around $15?

Trying to get rid of stubborn fat in cheeks (at a low enough BF% to see abs mind you), and slightly puffy nipples.

Stop doing that...  PLEASE!  You're giving me the willies...

But to answer your question, from what I know, even the pricey stuff doesn't really work.  I tried that gooey stuff back in 2000 when it was first coming out.  For one, it felt like rubbing pine sap on my abdomen.  And 2nd, it didn't do anything.  The stuff has been around for almost 10 years now, and if it was really effective, don't you think more people would be using it?

So if the $80 stuff is worthless, I can't fathom how worthless your homemade version (that burns your skin no less) is...

ok..

I have seen some good results on forums from the yohimburn..  maybe just a placebo from the cardio i guess..

Is clenbuterol any good topically, or how is it injected into the fat?

Looks carb heavy, protein light, very light on good fats.  Desperately need veg.  Do you know your macros per day?  Break it down and I think you'll see the problem.

You've got a lot of dietary options to try before using clen, lol.

The 1g/lb rule 'o thumb is for lean weight.  Calculate your LBM, take that as your protein grams per day and multiply it by 4 to get protein cals for the day, add 120 cals to allow for 30g carbs, subtract the sum of protein and carb cals from 1700 (total cals/day) and divide by 9 to get how many g of fat to eat for the day.

If you don't want to go low carb, at least change your carbs to lower GI unrefined sources and don't eat any after the PWO meal.  The only carb of yours that I like is the beans, although if they're "baked beans" in a sugary brown sauce that's out too.

Get more protein from fish (preferably fresh, not canned), chicken, egg whites without the yolks.  Eat a veg with every meal.  Cut out the ketchup, white rice, milk, corn chex, yogurt.  Try not to repeat a meal more than twice a day or repeat a day more than twice a week.
