Strange Soreness
« on: June 27, 2008, 08:30:54 AM »
This is very strange but I always experience intense forearm soreness the day after lifting legs.  Its not problematic but just wondering if anyone else experiences this.  This just seems flat out odd to me and I cant come up with any logical explanations.

Are you doing stiff leg deads on leg day?

I get this too and it comes from squatting. I don't get "extreme" forearm soreness like you say but my forearms, side delts, and traps are always a tad sore the next day - I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it just shows how many secondary muscles are involved in some of the better all-round exercises.

sound more to me like you're not stretching you upper body before ya do them...

upper body should be relatively loose when you're in the rack doing legs

Yes actually, as i said it's just a biproduct of using more muscles during certain exercises than you realize at the time.

Put your hands to the collars, over the top of the bar, like you're being crucified. Most comfortable placement for me, I'm 6'2", it may help with the pain in the forearms, I know it helped with my wrists/forearms.
