Budget deal: Planned parenthood vs. Military funding
« on: April 09, 2011, 07:56:38 AM »
So correct me if I am wrong, I just heard a soundbite this morning.  The main compromise was over funding planned parenthood and being able to pay the military for the next year.

So Harry Reid and Obama hold planned parenthood more precious than paying the military?  When we are in 5 undeclared wars?  They would rather shut down the gov't and not pay the military if they couldn't get their taxpayer funded abortions?  WTF?

Abortion is a religion to the communist left.   They know most military people wont vote for them and the blacks in the military are probably sheep anyway nd will vote fr obama no matter what he does.

Its all politics for these disgusting vermin.

I'm surprised there isn't more outrage over this.  If that was the deal-breaking issue, it seems rather absurd that the dems would support abortion funding over making sure military families get paid.

Again - its politics and who votes.   single women and blacks make up a HUGE chunk of the Dem base.   If they dont show up - the Dems lose.

5 undeclared wars?  What 5?

And I doubt that was the hang-up.  As I understand it, it was just one issue, seemingly bandied about because it makes for good headlines.  The primary argument in this whole thing has been how much to cut overall.

The initial reports seem to indicate Republicans caved quite a bit, but we should wait and see as the initial stuff is usually off.

Look - this whole issue is a result of the dems, namingly obama, reid, pelosi, not even passing a budget last year!

So, I have a little slack for Boehner in this, but the dems will never end PP.  To them, PP is their oracle and power base.

Without PP on their side, no dem would ever get elected.

Someone please remind me why pelosi reid obama never did a budget last year?

I'm more inclined to believe it was just one big political show for both sides.  The amount is so small relative to the trillions we need to worry about it's absurd.

Skip - I agree with you 100000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000% on that.

However - we still have Obama/Reid controliing 2/3 of the govt.

obama/Reid/Pelosi failing to even present a budget last year brought us to this!

Yes 5, they are the following:

Iraq
Afghanistan
Libya
Pakistan (Obama has done hundreds of airstrikes into pakistan and we have SOF and CIA on the ground there
Yemen (again, drone strikes against a sovereign nation by warmonger Obama without declaring war)

Would anyone disagree?  Or are they just kinetic military actions?

True, but the only thing they brought us to was a bunch of political bantering.  Neither side is willing to address the big 3 entitlements that are the primary cause.

Where did you hear this soundbite ?

The Planned Parenthood funding was ~ $300 million

that's not even lunch money for the military
