I agree totally, was saying the same thing at the bar I saw it at, Lesnar's half ass punch barely grazed Couture's ear, and those 'hammer fists' had about 5" of distance between hits so it's not like Lesnar even built up any power to lay them down like you would conventionally hitting with a 2 foot arc.
I re-watched the shot about 15 times yesterday and I think Brock did make contact on the punch. The other thing you have to realize is that you are talking about 280 lb hammer fists. I don't think that Randy would EVER let his fight be fixed. At this stage in the game, why would he? Plus the man has worked to hard to just say "fuck it, just fix it."
I think the Ref called it early, first off we all know that he is notorious for this, second Randy was not defending those 5" hammer fists, as mentioned 280 is a lot of wieght to be hit by. Either way people will always say something ridiculous, but with it being a title fight I think they should have let Randy eat a few more shots, but he wasn't defending himself and at the end of the night Randy is no longer the champ....
