You obviously didn't see Mir sub Brock in 1.5 minutes...I know that was before, but it wasn't that long ago.

Brock has improved greatly since then, and more importantly, his mental game has improved as well. Mir's submission was a shot in the dark at the time, Mir was very lucky.

Anyways, I will be the first to admit that I thought Brock was over-hyped, but this weekend he earned a lot of respect in my book. He only is going to get better as well.

How can you even rank a guy with a sub 5 fight list (with one loss allready)?

I think Fedor has a shot at beating him as does Big Nog. Maybe Mir could do it again, but not so sure. Maybe Barnett. Other than that can any MMA fighter in any weight class beat him?

Very good question and I also like your assessment.

Though I think Fedor would actually beat Lesnar easily.

Here's a shocker: I think Rashad Evans(!) would be a very bad match up for Lesnar.

I know Evans is in light heavy now, but he would IMO have no problem controlling Lesnar and get a decision.

BTW, I think Evans is boring as hell.

As for heavy weights:

Noguiera will probably win. I don't see Lesnar winning that fight. Lesnar can't knock out Noguiera, nobody can. And he won't be able to submit him.

And Noguiera has more gas in the tank to take it to Brock beyond round 2.

Mir... I love Mir.
Mir is a tough matchup for Lesnar. He can't go to the ground with Mir, Mir is that good with the leg locks. The Lesnar fight rejuvenated him. But I still think Lesnar can overpower Mir. The right strategy would be to push Mir up against the fence and pound on him.

Bottom line - I think those who will have a chance at beating Lesnar are fighters who have a dimension that Lesnar lacks. Eg, advanced ground game or very good conditioning.

Because no matter how hard Lesnar works his conditioning - 280 lbs of muscle won't be dancing in the 4th and 5th round.

Fedor
Nog
Barnett
Alistair
Lesnar

Alistair and Sergei K should be in the UFC.  Aleks won't because of the Baldfather/Finklestein and now Millen drama.

Lesnar is nothing more than Tim Sylvia with wrestling skills. I think he can probably take Mir the second time around, but thats it. He gets abused by Fedor and Nogueirra.

randy would be fighting half of his teamates if he dropped back to 205,forest,wandy and some others excellent 205lbr,s are in his camp(extreme couture) and i dont think it would be wise on randy,s part to drop down.you can never count randy out, after he lost awhile back like 2 or 3 fights in a row alot of guys said he was done but hes a true competetor.as far as brock i think hed have to avenge his loss to mir then beat big nog, fedor, barnett and crew before id consider him top dog, lets face it,the only real dangerous submission fighter he fought he got beat and beat quickly in frank mir,i believe mir set the blueprint on how to beat brock imo,who knows though,im sure brocks working hard on submission defense and things of that nature, time will tell

He's been training with Comprido, and his BJJ has improved.  He can be a force, barring injuries.

Ok, maybe im exagerating, but I honestly have little to no regard for Lesnar as a fighter outside of his wrestling skills which are completely and totally enhanced by his size. When you outweigh most of your opponents by 50+ pounds, its easy to look like a powerhouse. Granted he is athletic and impressive physically, but if you know anything about MMA, that means absolutely dick when the bell rings. Fedor looks like a pudgy dumpling but is a inhuman as a fighter. Anderson Silva looks like an Alvin Alley ballet dancing chimpanzee with a stupid smile on his face, but is a vicious beast in the ring and the best pound for pound fighter in the world by a mile. Yeah, Sylvia looks like a fat doofus, and he isn't as atheltic as Brock ( few people are), but skill wise, I dont think they are that far apart at all.

By his title belt?

While people love to think their opinions are not only relevant, but also important, all that really matters in a competition is winning.  Right now he has the UFC belt, so whether you hate him, think he sucks, or want to see the UFC bring in the Undertaker for a Royal Rumble in the cage.....he's "technically" the top fighter in the federation.

The only other thing that would matter in a competitive arena would be ticket sales, and he gets that done too.

You can think the World Series champions suck, you can think the NBA champs suck, you can think your College football team got screwed by the refs....but the reason competitions have "winners" and championship "titles" is to show who is technically the best.

I think it's hilarious to see MMA fans get so worked up about Brock.  If he was never a WWE wrestler and just came into the UFC as a former NCAA Wrestling Champion with over 100 collegiate wins with his size and ugliness, people would be riding his dick.

...he's 3-1 if you count his K1 fight, with victories over heath herring and randy couture. yes, brock has a MASSIVE advantage thanks to his size, but that doesn't discount the fact that he uses it well.

i love how MMA "purists" insist that size doesn't matter, and then when someone like brock starts steamrolling people they all go "well it's just because he's so big!" ::)

All things being equal, bigger is best.  That is why there are weight classes.  Most folks don't understand how much of a FREAK Brock is for his size.  He has already adapted a little of what he has learned and improved immensely.  Can you imagine what he will be when he turns his hips on his cross or hook?  He already showed improvement sitting in Randy's half/open guard.  People who deny what he is, and can be are delusional, and I DON'T LIKE HIM.  With coaches like Greg Nelson, Erik Paulson, Comprido, as long as he has an open mind (unlike Coleman and Randleman), he will get better.  And barring injuries and age, could be a dominant fighter.

Yeah, I was going to stop in and show you how to work out, but I didn't think it was yours. It's like an old ballet school turned fitness studio, real small.

Im not an MMA purist at all. I just dont think he's that good a fighter. He's a good wrestler with a 70lb weight advantage over most his opponents and good athleticism. He beat a washed up Randy Coture and an even more washed up Heath Herring after being submitted in less than two minutes by Frank Mir. Coture won the belt from Tim Sylvia, who had no business holding the belt in the first place. I realize the heavyweight division in the UFC isn't deep, but until Brock beats someone thats even remotely game- (I'd settle for a rematch win over Mir), hes just a a big name ticket seller to me. All style and no substance.

Randy is hardly washed up, he beats down a lot of pros during sparring sessions at Xtreme.  He got beat by a better man, period.

Signed.

Not a Brock Lesnar fan.
