A study like this doesn't prove anything when it comes to what we as bodybuilders want.  If you look at the study participants they're obese women (mostly) and are not looking to hold onto muscle while losing fat, they just want to shed bodyweight....a calorie is not just a calorie in the bodybuilding world!!

Agreed,  I saw CNN had a headline about this study.  If people believe that its all about calories, this could hurt many of the diet companies, that use the whole gylcemic index as their basis for people buying their pre packaged food ( nutrisystem ).

Speaking of NutriSystem - have you ever known someone who's used it?

No, but the way Nutrisystem is marketed, it makes people believe that they don't have to exercise, they just eat the pre packaged food and the weight comes off.  If people really believe that its all about calories they will just eat trash and count their calories.  However If I eat 2000 calories of donuts per day ( and nothing else ), I don't think I will get results... just a theory
