Actually there is nothing written in stone that any type of partial reps prevent injury. That is misleading information. Partial reps can cause problems for people just as full ROM can.
Excellent work in stating the obvious, which is that any exercise can cause injury. That has nothing to do with the fact that in the case of BNP, partials have less potential for injury relative to full ROM. There, i said it, thereby clearly up jpm's confusion.
