I dont think ANYONE thought he should have his job.He should have resigned months ago and the company forced into structured bankruptsy.Instead,we poured 20 billion in and we are NOW going to do what we should have done then.I think we DO care that the president can force or determine who is a CEO of a private company, determine what they can make, decide if they can own a plane etc.Thats not a good system.

they should have put Bob Lutz in that CEO chair..but oh, he's now retired. After turning around Cadillac and having more RWD platforms. He was also the driving force for the Chevy Volt as well.

There are a lot of overpaid professional athletes on losing teams that aren't earning their salaries too.

The issue is whether the president of the United States should be firing the CEO of a private company.  Where on earth are we headed?

And to think we actually had debates about whether Obama is a socialist or quasi-socialist.

he gave them 50 billion when they were about to go bankrupt.  he OWNS the freaking board at that point.  De facto, even if not de jure.

He gave them taxpayer money.  He doesn't own squat.  He doesn't even own the house he's currently living in.  He's not a dictator.

This is dangerous territory.  There are many businesses that receive taxpayer money, either directly or indirectly, and we have never let that serve as an excuse for federal government control of private business.

Looks like Ford is going to be competing against the government. Is that fair 240?
