FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Chandler, AZ – July 06, 2009 – A limited number of Publix GreenWise Vanilla and Chocolate Whey Protein Powders is being recalled by the manufacturer as they may contain undeclared milk ingredients. Persons who have an allergy to milk run the risk of a serious or possible life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected product.

The product was distributed throughout the chain to include stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
 
"The recall was initiated after a review of the labels revealed lacking, insufficient, or inaccurate information about Milk Allergens," said Jim Sarti, Arizona Nutritional Supplements VP, Quality Assurance. "As part of Publix commitment to food safety, they are asking customers to return the product for a full refund or replacement. There have been no reported cases of illness. Wow Princess,

Looks to me like someone is covering their tush. I would think, ...or at least I would like to think that anyone with a milk allergy would know enough to stay away from whey. That's like the guy allergic to peanuts thinking he can consume peanut butter. It boggles the mind.
