There's been a lot of discussion around that.  They're considering a super fight with Aldo.  However, from what I hear, they believe there is a lot more money to be made with a BJ/GSP rubber match.  BJ would have to take on one of the other 170 contenders first though (Kos, Fitch, Thiago, etc.).

Personally I would love to see a BJ/Aldo fight AND a BJ/GSP III.

GSP won both fights, so it would not be a "rubber match"

I would not want to see or pay for another GSP BJ fight.

BJ belongs at a lower weight, GSP belongs at a higher weight-- case closed.

I would not mind seeing GSP move up or BJ move down to fight game competition.

BJ once had the 170 belt and he took it from Hughes in his prime.  I would like to see BJ challenged a top 170 contender and the see the final chapter in the GSP/BJ saga.  This time, when GSP pummels him, there would be no more grease excuses.

I don't see Maynard doing much with BJ either. I like Maynard but BJ outclasses him and has had experience fighting much stronger than Maynard. As for BJ/Aldo, only true MMA fans know who Aldo is due to WEC is only on Versus and most casual fans don't even know about it. So I don't see it being profitable for UFC. They would have to put a lot of marketing in trying to sell Aldo. It would be a great fight though.

Sorry to burst your bubble... real MMA fans don't watch little kids the WEC guys fighting..if I want to see two 115lb'ers go at it I'll go to an elementary school after school

I see your point, I don't like watching most of them either. Torres is talented but is hard to take serious at 135lbs and being skinny fat with that pathetic mean face he has. However I do like to watch the talent of Faber, Henderson, Cerrone, Varner, and few others. They have a lot of skill and are fast paced. The main point I was trying to make was that being a MMA fan (as in not just UFC) you are aware of these fighters exist whether its from the internet or you actually watch it.

I guess the irony here is that Zuffa/UFC own and run the WEC ;)

maynard has good wrestling...it's not likely he will win...but none the less he's more than likely bj's next opponet if he beats diaz....after that BJ's other opponets will be frankie edgar & Tyson Griffin....

most of the WEC fights are actually way more exciting than the UFC ones.  Faster pace, great skills/technique, lots of action.  There's rarely a boring fight.

Wow, off the boards for a couple of weeks, and one misses a lot.

BJ has been walking around at 165-168, which makes him small for 170.  GSP cuts from 190, and after hydrating rolls into the cage at 183-185.  Too much of a size advantage for GSP.  I would rather see GSP move up to 185, BJ move up to 170, and Anderson move up to 205.  In all three cases, there is nothing left for them at their respective weight classes.

Maynard would get owned by BJ.  They have trained together previously, and BJ used to MAUL him.  BJ's striking is too crisp, and Maynard would not get the takedown.  I heard BJ is scheduled to fight Frankie Edgar in April.
