Now Howard Dean won't support his re-election and Olbermann has publicly spoken against this. 

He has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.  The saddest thing is that people are still dying and will continue to die without health care.

I will give you that, that on this version of the bill 333 you have been at the forefront of opposition.  We differ in our hopes for the intended outcome - i.e. i hope this thing is amended to include the public option or single payer and you hope this thing is killed and no single payer etc. 

But i think we can both agree if this is passed in it's current form.  No one will be happy and the Dems who voted for it will lose and Obama will never live it down.

Exactly.  I had no issue if there was going to be a public option which afforded lower income families health care.  But this is horrendous.  The insurance companies are loving this.  So are the repubs.

How can you force a priivate citizen to buy a product from a private company with the foce of the Fed Gov behind it with penalty of law and fine?  That is crazy. 

What if the carriers say they need a 400% increase and you cant afford it but you are right above the poverty line?  Than what?  You go to jail?

I'm totally against this because I dont think the Fed gov should ever be able to mandate people buy stuff from private companies.  There is just something dead wrong with that IMHO.

Look, I try to look at these things for what they are.  This present bill to me is a disgrace.   

I cant imagine a worse scenario than having the federal govt mandating that you purchase private insurance like this and if I dont, I get fined or jailed.  Also, how do they verify this?  Does the IRS getinvolved in your health care now? 

I also dont buy into the bs about it being the same as auto insurance.  Its not the same thing since no one forces you to buy a car.

As far as the drug companies and the killing the drug re-importation provisions by Dorgan, I posted about the deal they made in the WH months ago.  The Huff post did great work on that. 

WWWTTFF??  That is not the way to drive down costs if the Fed gov is essentially guarantting their profits with no real competition.

I agree Billy waiting until 2013 is not a good option.  it would need to be in effect asap.

KC - it seems to me that they tried to do a one size fits all thing and that simply is not realistic.
