Clearly the more desireable physique belongs to Cedric.

He's tall too, Jay is short and thick but that's what the judges go for.

Exactly why bodybuilding is screwed.

of course jay wins, but i'd say jay has favourable lighting

- jay is obviously in better condition
- But Cedric is 6'1 - 6'2 and has alot of potential in the future

Cedric wins in back, arms, abs,  even chest.

Well who would win, Cedric or Toney Freeman?  I think most would say Toney.  Toney is an inch taller and at least 20 pounds heavier with roughly equal conditioning, perhaps even more muscle maturity due to age.  I think Cedric seems to have a broader frame but overall I would still give it to Toney and Jay beats Toney handily, so...

In a fair world, Toney beats Jay. I can't believe the current Mr. O has a subpar back that gets beat by newly brand new pros. I think the current crop sucks, but there is a resurgence I think with Roelly Winklaar, Zach Khan, Cedric "The Entertainer" McMillian, Phil Heath, and hopefully Wolf.

he has the most unaesthetic ab shot of any Mr. o, including Ronnie. Jay's abs look like they are melting away. Jay was rewarded for coming in his all time best, not for being the best. The Best would have a very detailed back...the best have ALWAYS had a very detailed back. Just as Jay was rewarded, Wolf was punished, and Dex was punished, and Branch was rewarded.

Dex was probably punished because his Snadow dropped and has a bent barbell. They probably think that he disrespected the Sandow and what it stood for, so therefore, they "bent" him.

Jay wasn't rewarded for coming in at his best. Or at least not for that alone. He was dry, conditioned, huge and thick, making just about everyone else look smaller. He out-muscled everyone else while having decent enough shape to look good in the mandatories.

Toney and Cedric look great, but put them next to Jay and they'll look lanky due to their height. Cedric looks like he can go all the way in about 3 or 4 years if he continues to improve and pack on mass without compromising his shape too much.

How many times have we heard of this resurgence. 2009 was supposed to be the most competitive line-up in years. And what did we get: an out-of-shape Wolf, half a Vic Martinez,  "The Hype Is Gone" Heath, "Shit, I Could Not Replicate My AC Look" Greene (with no traps), a big and dry Brach who stills has no back and yet gets second place, Dexter looking pretty much the same (great but missing the Wow factor) and yes Jay in his best shape in years, massive and conditioned, with awful lines, symmetry not as bad as the past three years but still far from what a O champion should be. He wins all the shots against Cedric for now except the back ones (if you're ready to overlook the hams BTW). The guy has great potential but i don't know if his physique can hold the required mass to play with big boys without looking like shit.

I will not get into a argument...You and I can agree that this was argued ad nasuem back in Oct and Nov.

Mortalcoil, Phil is still in the running. He was hyped his first few yrs, and so far he's lived up to it. I think though, that in years to come he's gonna have to think for himself. He can't go to Jay and asked for advice if he should do a show or not. This maybe a crack in The Gift's armor. Unfortunately he may suffer from Flex Wheeler Disease---meaning that he has all the potential in the world, but he may not be number 1. Vic Martinez has this as well.

But take a look at Cedric, Winklaar, Khan, Heath, Greene, Vic...they are where bbing needs to go (minus the insulin use)

Vic should have won in 2007 by a countrymile, everybody knows that (do they want a guy with a criminal record as Mr O?). Now, will he recover and get back his legs? I don't know, a lot didn't recover from that type of injuries. Kai should soon be able to get the title unless the G4P stuff comes back to haunt him. Khan has to be seen on a pro-stage but I would also agree he can have a big impact. Heath has structural flaws that he can't overcome, he's narrow as hell, all arms and delts from the front overpowering his pecs. Only Mr O thanks to politics if it happens. Winklaar: last shots were not impressive, specially his back so I don't see him doing much for the moment. Cedric has the most pleasing physique but he needs to add quite a lot of mass and without ruining his lines, proportions and symmetry. If he does, he'll be great.

Agree for 2009. But in 2007, he should have won. Jay was way off and asymmetrical as it gets. now, if you compare Jay 2009 to Vic 2007, I would give it to Jay also.

If Both Vic and Jay were on, Vic has the better structure and would win. He looked (like all of today's pros) better when he first turned pro...

Vic would look better than Jay has what is required to win by IFBB standards. Otherwise, Dex would have won again in 2009. They want mass and conditioning with as little structural flaws as possible. Lines and symmetry is no longer as important as it once was.
