I'm curious where you guys live if this is the case. Here in my county they have been busing kids out of their area for about 10 yrs as a way to combat "segregation" as the supporters, put it. Now, a newly elected school board has decided to end the practice and have "neighborhood schools."
I can understand the frustration parents have if they live in an area with a sub-standard school, but how about addressing that school and improving it? People at the board meetings always talk about the "child from a bad neighborhood getting the opportunity to attend a better school" but nobody mentions the "child from a decent neighborhood being sent to a bad neighborhoods school."
To me the whole argument is idiotic and just a way for white liberals to "feel good about themselves for helping the poor minorities." While in reality, the ENTIRE community could be better served by improving under-performing schools.
It's a heated topic right now and just wanted your guys thoughts.
It completely destroyed the City on Yonkers where I live. Do a little research on this.
It was very divisive and pit the working class white ethinc italians and irish against the blacks in the city and we have been a mess ever since.
Of course liberal commie jews and their fellow traveling communist blacks were pushing this mess. And what happened? White flight from the school system, kids getting transported all over the place, taxes getting raised massively to fund this crap, neighborhood schools going to pt, etc.
I swear, you guys need only to have lived in my shoes to understand where I am coming from seeing the crap I have seen.
