Am I making too many assumptions and letting my human tendency to see things as a greater CT when i get the feeling that the democrats want people to be poor so they continue to need government help and vote accordingly?

Probably so huh.

Its not a CT at all.    The democrat machine is based on a aggregate groupe of the following, with which falls apart instantly if any one groups falls off:

1.    Government Unions
2.  90% of the Black Vote
3.  60% or more of the Hispanic vote
4.  The far left fringe voters (PETA, Green Peace, NutRoots, etc) 
5.  45-55% of the female white vote
6.  35-45% of the White male vote. 
7.  85% of the liberal jewish vote (mostly for $$$)

If any part of that coalition is gone, the dems never win. 

Even KRS 1 called it out like it.

Liberal self loathing and guilt.  Most of their ancestors were eastern european communists and socialists.  They also think they are a victim class in America and like to side with that mentality which the RAT party caters to.
