The Most Expensive House in the World
« on: November 05, 2010, 03:01:08 AM »
Is this considered Alpha Male status?

Mukesh Ambani, age 53. He lives in the $1 billion skyscraper mansion with his wife, three children and 600 servants.

No thanks...NOT the kind of "home" I would have if I were a billionaire....perhaps, the guy requires a ballroom, 600 servants, etc for business reasons, but not at home. There's nothing that says home in that building.

that's what I thought too. I guess the inside may be nice but the outside looks like shit.

if i had the money i would buy a house with a space to some degree. cant imagine you can really feel at home in these huge houses.
its the same with money thats not bringing you more happyness when its exceeding a certain amount.

I don't ever fucking get it......... So he builds a tower in a city. why?

If I had that money I buy myself a huge piece of land some place in the mountains, I would have it as a nature reserve with a huge cabin underground shit (like the shire in the Lord of the Rings)
so it fits into the overall nature - you can have all the luxury stuff and all but also the peace and quite of nature if you need it.

Its India, you try finding land that is not a game reserve, or in the mountains or has access to a paved road. This is not like Europ or America, where it is safe, and you can be isolated but, not far away from civilization. This is what happens in a third world country when you have a huge bridge between the rich and poor, and there are about 1 billion poor to small minority of rich people.

Why build it in shithole India?  Doesn't matter if he's from there......that is the key, be FROM there as in relocate to a nicer country.

That is pretty much the issue, he wants to live where he's from, but when you are from a third world country, where most people are poor, why do it? And most of the countries around him are poor...the paradox of the rich in India and China...being very rich in a very poor country.

If I had a billion to spare on a house, you'd best believe that I would design one of those James Bond villain lairs, with secret exits, lasers and crocodiles and shit. Maybe build it in a volcano.
