Ex-Sen. Evan Bayh (D) to join Fox News
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:30:32 AM »
Fox News Channel announced Monday that it has signed former Indiana Governor and Senator Evan Bayh, a moderate Democrat, to its list of contributors.

"Senator Bayh’s decades of experience in the political arena and his participation in key decisions in Washington will lend a valuable point of view to the entire Fox News lineup," Michael Clemente, Senior Vice President of News Editorial for the network, said in a statement.

"I'm pleased to offer analysis of public policy and politics to the millions of Americans who get their news from Fox," Bayh said.

Two weeks ago, Fox News suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum for 60 days, citing their apparent intentions to launch presidential campaigns.

"The suspension is effective for 60 days, then on May 1 their contracts will be terminated unless they notify Fox that they are not running for president," Fox News anchor Bret Baier said.

Bayh served two terms as the Governor of Indiana and two terms in the United States Senate. He was also the Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council and formed the Moderate Dems Working Group.

Bayh retired from the Senate in February 2010.
