Hahaha US - Argentina 1:1
« on: March 27, 2011, 02:29:04 PM »
Brutal: in US male soccer players are guys who did not qualify for any of the big sports. Imagine the best talent US has going to soccer. Imagine Lebron as a goalkeeper and Kobe as a forward. The would look like aliens against the usual unathletic midgets that pass for superstars

Yes.  Unfortunately soccer is a big NOGAF (No One Gives A Fuck) in U.S.A., the greatest country in the world.

You gotta love stupid comments like these. You would have 400 gangly goalkeepers and a few centre. You wouldn't want to think about actually having any foot skills. Most great players are actually quite short so half the NFL and all of the NBA would be genetically redundant. Lower centre of gravity means better control.

Or it means a history of malnutrition and genetic in-breeding, haha.

Ha ha. I still play, mainly for cardio. If Ocho can't make a retired man's league like the MLS, how do you think he would do in a third division in Europe?

Kobe played in France.  See he ended up in the NBA.

Lebrick would give up 10 goals a game in South America or Europe.

Steve Nash might be able to make it in MLS but he's too busy buying a WPS team in Vancouver.

Blk youth in states focus on football and basketball.  even if they side stepped to soccer it would take a couple of generations to deal with Euro A teams and the Brasilians.

US already has better pure athletes, they just dont have the futebul skills.

See, every time America is semi succesfull in a sport "no-one cares about" it gets some attention. Americans just feel the need to be the best, usually that means that they have to have their own sports they can dominate all by themselves.
