Mousasi statement re Jones
« on: April 06, 2011, 11:56:27 AM »
"Right now Jon Jones is considered the best, and if I win my fights, maybe it could build up a good match against him,” stated Mousasi. “I think it would be such a great fight, so I would like to test myself against him."

Guy is on crack.

Found this kinda funny.

He couldn't get past King Mo and he thinks he has a chance at Jones? BWHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
Besides, he has to get past Jardine first.

The guy's been in the game for a while, possibly punch drunk you think?

My original thought was he's on crack.   Who knows though.

I think Mousasi is one of the best kept secrets in MMA...

he's basically had one off night...

Where did he say he would beat Jones?

He said if he wins all of his fights, he would like a shot against Jones and that it would be a good challenege.

Personally I think Jones would rip him a new asshole, but he was being 100% humble.

The King Mo fight was a fluke imo. He abused Mo the entire fight but couldn't avoid the takedown which is why he lost.

You're right, he never said he would beat jones... and I never quoted or stated he did.

For him to think he would match up well and that it would be a great fight is a stretch.  Mousasi should be talking about fighting lower ranked fighters first.  He's jumping the gun.

A fluke is if you get caught.  Mo exposed him for having no wrestling.  Mousasi would be raped in the UFC.

Most of strikeforce would.

So much for Mousasi...he couldn't beat Keith Jardine who took the fight on short notice...

Without getting into a war with the anti-UFC cock gazers on here.... I agree 100%.  I can't get over how overrated Melendez is.  He looks good, but he's not fighting anywhere near top level talent. Diaz is in the same boat. They look good, but can you imagine Melendez fighting Maynard? or Edgar?

But who knows, I could be wrong. Guess we'll know soon enough.

I think Diaz is one of the rare exceptions in that he could actually hang with most in the UFC.  There are a handful of others.

I just read some statements King Mo posted about being able to beat Jon Jones.  Overconfidence.

I'd love to see a sanchez/diaz II  or a koz/diaz.

I hope they do in fact cross assimilate fighters though.  Why shouldn't they??  The HW division just got that much better.  (if they did)

King mo says that about everyone at the top. im sick of that guy, dont know what the big deal is with him hes just another wrestler and he thinks hes up there with the all the very best.
Never found him very funny either..

What a rude awakening he'd have if fighting the best.  Problem is is that he's been fighting second-tiered fighters..  and winning.. giving him a false sense of confidence.

Let's see him take on a griffin, rampage, or evans.. They'd have a field day with him.

Id even go on record and say an aging Tito Ortiz would give him trouble.
