Many of the young Getbigges are not aware of who Serge Nubret was
He was born in Guadalupe Island, in the Caribbean ,while in school a good student and was an outstanding ATHLETE the best sprinter around, he ran 100 meters in 10.5 seconds as a teenager, many coaches saw in him Olympic caliber, he was a 5'11" teenager (with six pack before abs were even called six-pack) a track coach introduced him to weight training, at age 19 he won Mr.Guadalupe,at age 20 wont most Muscular at IFFBB MR.Universe ......he retired from BB to go to college in Paris where he got a degree in accounting. Openned his own gym then another for women only, returned to bodybuilding ,and weightlifting .... at a bodyweight of 220 he bench pressed 508 lbs! then as a Bodybuilder he was runner up of Mr.Olympia in 75 at bodyweight of 212 pounds won Mr.Europe76',Mr.National Amateur,Mr.World Prize,(NABBA) &(WBBA).
Note : He ran 100 meters in 10.5 seconds and benched 508 lbs.
He also was in the motion picture industry and became a popular muscle man in Europe with over 30 films, he also did a tv series in Germany a version of Huckleberry Finn.... (There were still racial barriers back in the day) but Serge was popular and respected and many wanted to be or look like him....with a physique that could have taken at least 7 Mr.O tittles....
He promoted Bodybuilding ,competed and was BANNED from the IFBB in the late 70's.
With a Bodyweight of 220, around 6 feet tall and year round LEAN and AESTHETIC he could have taken Franco,Zane, and Dickerson from 76-82 maybe just maybe losing to Samir in 83...(you do the math).
In his 50's he was featured in several networks(Europe, Latin America and USA) including ESPN did two segments on him working out with a near-perfect physique that could have taken Lou and Robinson in 94' Masters!....
He has passed, I felt like throwing my two cents here cause It is unlikely you will see a pullout poster special edition issue on Serge Nubret .....
Im not even sure he was ever in a cover of a Weider publication.
