Burning skin - what do I do?
« on: May 15, 2011, 06:59:05 PM »
Hi gents, 39y.o., 5th week into 1st cycle 200ml test cyp twice a week; got acne - started taking minocycline - acne disappeared in 4 days but now got burning skin feeling (kinda like after sunburn) and redness on my chest and neck and nipples are puffy. While taking minocycline sun exposure should be avoided and I did. Could it be sides from test. Gyno?m What do I do?

I'm sure you mean 200 mg cyp per week (since 200 ml/cc would be a some kind of record :) ). Anyway just start a low dose nolvadex 20 mg per day for the first week and then i'm sure you can drop it 10 per day (for the duration) and that should do the trick for the gyno.

That's plenty, i would even say too much...
10mg eod should do the work, and if not i would save some money and get adex.
also provirion / masteron might help too and you can run it for longer duration

Sorry, I meant 400 mgs/week (200 mgs twice: Mon evening and Fri morning).
Thank you for your posts! I was thinking about starting nolvadex and then I saw Arnold`s post somewhere that nolva will do little for a gyno while on a cycle......... Instead he recommended Letrozol 25mg/day for a couple of weeks. What do you think?

Well AJ knows his shit, but Nolvadex stopped my gyno "back in the day" so it's not a "bad drug" at all. There's a difference in those two drugs, nolva is a serm and letro is an ai... Letrozole is a stronger drug than Nolvadex is, so if you are REALLY worried about the gyno flare up you can use Arimidex or Letrozole. Some favor nolva since ai's can halt (some) gains and personally i feel better on a serm than on ai...

Thanks, Luolamies! I feel relieved cause my doc said today that burning skin is normal side from minocycline. I don`t mind that side since my bad face and chest acne is gone in 4 days! For now he recommended to take it eod instead of ed. My puffy nipples were irritated from "inflamed" skin and not from gyno since areola didn`t change at all and is still soft (when gyno areola would be full, "meaty"). I`ll wait with nolva for now and keep monitoring.

Nolva can work fine, in a lot of ways it just depends on how sensitive the guy is. However, while Nolva will work to prevent it in a lot of cases if symptoms get really bad normally it won't be worth a lot for treating Gyno. Anyway, personally to me it just makes sense to go with the sure thing in Letro or Adex, plus both will help stave off a lot of other nasty effects far more efficiently than Nolva IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Nolva is useless at all, I just prefer it as a PCT med which it shines as.
