Agreed. It baffles me though. He just stopped and started getting pounded and ko'd. I see him as the best striker, one of the most imposing physically, great ground game, excellent footwork, hardest hitter, what gives?  ???

He is a good striker but just has a one-two. Whereas guys like Liddell, Valasques or JDS will throw 5 or more punches in a row if an opponent is hurt. Add in the lack of conditioning and power (he is much softer in his last 2 fights since lowering his dosages after a failed drug test but carrying the same weight). Think about it. When you get exhausted and tired, your chin isn't as strong. You are ready to go. The power goes. Try fighting after a hard run.

The Reem would not take a dive. His brand is very popular, he makes good endorsement and seminar money. The two losses to average heavyweights have taken him off the elite list, and back to the ham and eggers. He was destroying Travis and Bigfoot easily, but in both cases he stood right in front of them with his hands down, and he was tired. No footwork, no defense.
Maybe we have seen the best of him  :-\

Saw him KO a romanian can with a knee strike a couple of years back. I hated Alistair in K1. But he won. Then he crossed over and won, and won. Then this..

1st loss: Alistair clearly underestimated Bigfoot..... and Alistair was unable to hurt Bigfoot at all. Bigfoot is a TOUGH dude. Bigfoot was not afraid to throw down with Alistair (or Mark Hunt) and won due to his mega-chin, punch combo's and conditioning. Between rounds, Bigfoot was calm as hell. His corner does a GREAT job keeping him calm.

2nd loss: Jeramy Browne's legs are so damn long.... The guy is like 6'7". Alistair thought that he was out of range (wrong!). Alistair was standing a few inches to close to Browne. I feel Alistair is better than Browne, and would probably win in a rematch.

When he is his normal self he should KO both.

But you and I know that the best showing does not count when you are there fighting .. it matters what you can bring THEN ...IF you raise up to the ocassion

He doesn't recover from bigger shots like many of the other heavyweights do. Then he is a sitting duck. Even when he was 205, and got hit by sub 200 lbs guys his jaw was glass. In the Bigfoot fight he dominated the first 2 rounds, but took a couple of shots later in the 2nd round. By the start of the thrid round he was a sitting duck with his arms down. He just stood in front of Bigfoot, got caught with some moderate uppercuts, didn't clinch, couldn't recover.

this. reem is too big and carries too much muscle. gasses quickly, doesn't like getting hit. we saw this in his fights with Kharatonov and Arona.
