Wiggs, White Cubans are originally descendants from Spaniards. Blacks from Africa. I guess that goes without saying. Cuba was always about 60% white and 40% black back in the 1950's and 60's. Now it seems to be about 90% black. Cubans have been fleeing to America and the majority seem to be white Cubans. I grew up in a Cuban neighborhood in Union City, NJ and I knew very few black Cubans. I can't really speak about relationships between the black and white Cubans since there were very few black Cubans around my Cuban neighborhood.
I'll say this about Cubans and this is why the other Spanish people in America hate them. They are incredible hard workers and they have made a lot of money here. It wasn't unusual to see a Cuban get off the boat with nothing going to own a car dealership or a pharmacy after 5 to 7 years here.
