can u pre-mix creatine??
« on: November 25, 2005, 08:43:18 PM »
hey guys
I was wondering if  i could pre mix creaine int my grape juice?? i've read the creatine is highly unstable when its mixed with any kind of liqid. i like to take my post workout shake, at the gym bc it sometimes takes me  30 minutes to get home.. i usually use dextrose but im finding it harder to find a place that carry dextrose powder. so im going to use grape juice. is there another time(s) in the day to get a spike or anything like that??

thx

It's not the unstable part that you're worried about, it's the efficacy of the product that you are ingesting.   Creatine has to go through your first and second-pass metabolism. Now, it's very hard for it to do this when it is immediatetly mixed, and then ingested.  If you start this process 30 minutes to an hour early, you are most likely going to send that creatine straight into the urinal.  Why not put your creatine in a zip-lock bag?   You can use printer paper as a funnel (it works great, my friends and I used to use this method on a pretty consistent basis), and send the creatin straight into the grape juice or water bottle, and shake until mixed.  Then drink.

The time it takes creatine to breakdown to the bi-product createnine when exposed to liquid.  Mixing it 1 or 2 hours before drinking it is ok, but overnight it will become useless.   Kre-Alkalyn comes in a stable liquid and from reports and repeat sales, it must work.  I like the pills.  2=10 grams of creatine monohydrate.  Always in the gym bag and easy to pop after workouts and before sleep.
