adding milk to post workout shake
« on: December 19, 2005, 10:45:59 PM »
Lately I have been adding about a cup of whey to my post workout shake it tastes real good with it.  My shake is 1 cup quick oats, 1 banana, 1.5 scoops whey, ice.

Is milk for post workout bad?

milk from what ive known can slow down the recovery process. i would just use simple carbs like a can a soda, dextrose, bananas, and ur whey protein, taking in about 40g protein and around 50-60g carbs (simple carbs).

Yeah I used to use milk all the time mostly cuz i didn't have to worry bout extra weight and because I hated it with water. But now I've switched to ONLY water and now I couldn't imagine drinking a big, sweet, thick, filling shake like that.
