That Snowdon is even on that list shows that at least 50% of Americans should be forcibly sterilized to prevent passing on their stupidity. When I see someone claiming he's a "traitor" for exposing government treason I am baffled that I can be part of the same species as them

Here's the thing: The good news is that the most dramatic "revelations" in the Snowden-Greenwald stories turn out upon further review to be somewhere between greatly exaggerated and entirely false. Yes, NSA vacuums up telephone "metadata" and sifts it for suspicious patterns. USA Today revealed that in 2006. There was a big political fight about it, which the libertarian side lost. But no, they aren't listening to your calls, and when the histrionic Mr. Snowden says he could have eavesdropped on anybody in the USA, he leaves out that doing so would have landed him in Federal prison, where he probably belongs.

As the New Yorker's Jeff Toobin asks, "What, one wonders, did Snowden think the N.S.A. did? Any marginally attentive citizen, much less N.S.A. employee or contractor, knows that the entire mission of the agency is to intercept electronic communications."

Secondly, NSA has no direct "PRISM" link into the servers of Google, Yahoo, and the rest. Upon detecting suspicious activity, it must seek a search warrant, whereupon the companies isolate the information sought and deliver it to an electronic "lockbox" for collection

Who is the most hated man in America?  Who deserves to be?

• Dick Cheney: former Vice President who led the US into Iraq unnecessarily
• Aaron Hernandez: accused murderer and former New England Patriots football player
• Bernie Madoff: orchestrator of the largest ponzi scheme ever
• Jerry Sandusky: convicted child molester from Penn State University
• Josh Shaw: USC football star who faked a story about rescuing his nephew from drowning
• Edward Snowden: former CIA worker who exposed the extent of US surveillance
• Donald Sterling: former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers
• George Zimmerman: Neighborhood watchman and killer of Travon Martin

Madoff is a close second, but my vote goes to Dick Cheney.  The US has spent $2 trillion on the Iraq war and its aftermath.  About 4000 use troops died there (needlessly); tens of thousands injured/maimed; anywhere from 100,000 to 500,000 Iraqis died as a result of the conflict (again needlessly); he failed to capture Bin Laden; and even now is trying to blame current problems in Iraq on the Obama administration.

The problem with a blanket list such as this is that nobody wants to be under the covers with their equals in life.  People are for the greater part ignorant of what is going on around them, myself included.  Ergo we tend to focus on either what we are personally aware of or what is preached via an increasingly liberal media bent on social engineering for their own Animal Farm tendencies.

Your list is valid in some ways but vapid in others.  That is the way of such things.
