The world of children's television has said farewell to one of its most cherished performers with the passing of Ronnie Le Drew on 27th July 2026. Best known as the talented puppeteer and unmistakable voice behind Zippy in the classic ITV series Rainbow, Le Drew spent more than six decades bringing imagination, laughter and warmth to audiences of all ages. Sir Billy Boston, rugby league's first ever knight.

Boston was the definition of a trailblazer. He was the first black player to represent Great Britain.

With an unbelievable 478 tries in 488 matches, he is still Wigan Warriors' greatest ever try-scorer.

56-years after Boston last stepped foot on the rugby pitch, his immeasurable impact on the game is still felt. 

Rest in peace, Sir Billy Boston.
