People always talk under the veil that kids are sacred and always say nice things but today it has changed.  The more popular comedians are the one's that speak the truth about how kids are just assholes and need a good kick in the ass.  People relate to those comedians more.  Kids can be cute but at the same time will suck the life out of you.

Kids back in the day were equally as rebellious. I mean, look at the 60s and 70's. Disobeying authorities, rampant drug use, unprotected sex. Personally, I dont think kids need a good kick in their ass. I dont think that will solve the issue. Society, in general, has gone downhill which also includes SHITTY parenting. You cant expect a child to be a perfect angel when parents are equally shitty. I have a feeling there is a strong correlation between children's behavior and bad parenting. you see parents texting on their cell phones, instead of parenting. Then when the child screams for attention, everyone says, "Spank your child for screaming." Oh, maybe if you werent on your shitty cell phone, your 6 year old wouldn't be screaming for your attention. As the famous analyst DW Winnicot said, "There is no such thing as a baby, there is a baby and someone." Meaning, every baby is attached to a caregiver. Children's behavior have  may become worse over time, but parenting has also become worse over time, too. Its not just all about the child needing a good kick in the ass, in my opinion. Lets not put the sole blame on the children.

Probably has to do with the realization that raising children is pretty damn tough, physically, emotionally, and financially.

I think people have this vision in their head: Strapping, good looking man to be married to, 2-3 well-behaved children, home, white picket fence, dog, and cat. Instead, they get a man who is out of shape and doesn't care, children with behavior problems, a home that they may no longer care to keep up, their dog has 3 legs, and their cat has no tail. The realization of life hits.

this ....dead on

I love being married and have a kid.  Some days are tough, some days are easy, some days tear your heart out, some are the best you'll ever have in your life.

I wouldn't trade my girls for anything.  :)

they're grumpy because disneyland is paradise for kids, but nothing but an expensive pain in the ass and over sized crowds for adults

I have no idea what the actual % is, but I see/observe plenty of UNHAPPY, miserable parents.
Woman libbers from 40 yrs ago just assumed men would do a lot more domestic crap when they went to work.
We didn't. In fact, a lot of men refused to marry them or got divorced from their crabby ass.

Now, they are working single moms and life sucks.

Can't agree with you more.  I see many middle aged women, divorced, troubled kids, looks like shit, abusing medications.  Life sucks.
