And yeah this was a publicity thing. Donald Glover / Childish Gambino has been getting all the shine in the "conscious rapper" world for the last few months, so Kendrick had to do something.

Bottom line, she sung it the way it was written, as she said. If you don't want people to say it, don't use it as a lyric. Also if you're going to jump on the conscious / militant rapper thing, then take a pay cut, and really do it for your people. Probably 90% of that area of concert were white kids paying $150+ for a ticket.
