Vince is the guy who said he wasted a lot of time doing cardio when he was younger. When he competed late 40's early 50's, he said cardio is useless for bodybuilders...

Vince is THE coolest of all the pros. Saw him in seminar with the other pros of the late eighties / early '90's and he blew them away in terms of public speaking, humour and just having a relaxed lifetime approach to bodybuilding

I have worked out with him many times. He used to live 20 minutes from me and we would meet up every other month or so.

Very nice guy all around, very laid back and pretty open to talking about anything you want not just training.

Gave me some Powerballz (no homo) years ago. They are ok, but have found that they were better for some back work outs than arm exercises.

Sort of. I have trained with both - Vince here (post career), Freeman when I lived in Atlanta (during his career)- Both Freeman and Vince believe in training smarter over training harder. Though Tony trains a bit harder than Vince, but Vince uses a lot more volume than Freeman. That is just his volume amounts now. In his prime when he was competing he used even more volume. Though in all fairness I do have to point out that Tony was/is still competing so you can expect him to train a bit harder than someone who has been retired for a while.

Vince basically gets on a piece of equipment and camps out there until he is bored or another piece of equipment he is waiting on becomes available. Machines like leg extensions, cables or such, he can be there anywhere from 8-15 sets. He never counts them. I asked him once why he trained with such high volume and moderate weights. He said the injury risk was much higher when training heavier. His words were "Heavy weight and forced reps will stimulate the muscle for sure, but I can stimulate it just as good with another set or two without the risk of tearing or straining something."
