I went on my 1st cruise. It was a  modest 5 day Carnival cruise and I loved it.
Until that experience, bodybuilding was how I wanted to spend my leisure time.

I stopped competing in 1996, but, I was an active NPC judge and regular fan at IFBB pro shows.

Being wined and dined on a cruise with my (ex) wife was something new.
In summary, compared to the world of bodybuilding, the cruise was 100x better experience.

I never could justify spending much $$ or vacation time again on bodybuilding contests.
Yes, going to the ARNOLD weekend was fun, but, it wasn't close to a cruise.

I feel like a douche and BB slacker to admit this, but, it's true.

Since my early cruise experiences , I've expanded to other resort locations and  fine dining.

I've been on one cruise.  They are relaxing, with the exception of the hassle of embarking and disembarking ports of call.   I had tried to smuggle some rum I purchased at port, pouring it into a Coke bottle, and it went through the scanner and they confiscated it until the evening before we disembarked at the end of the cruise.  They are really super observant when it comes to ppl smuggling booze.  Booze expenses on a cruise with the mandatory gratuity adds up very quickly.
