Heard of guys smoking weed before a workout but this dude tops it. Not sure how he stays in shape given the calories in Alcohol  :-\

When I was in college I’d go work out at 6am with a buddy. I went out one night and came in at 3 and he came and grabbed me for a workout and I literally was hammered working out. Went home slept until 10 and didn’t even remember the full workout. Horrible experience.

I’ve had some of my best pressing workouts the day after a heavy night of drinking. I think I read years ago many powerlifters drink heavily the night before a meet because it rids the inhibitions and you just come in and lift. Mind you I wasn’t drunk but hungover and pressed a lot I believe the first time I benched 500 I was hungover.if I tried it now I would either die or just not lift but in my mid 20s it wasn’t that bad.

I read that John Grimek would take a shot of booze before a heavy lift.

Vasily Alekseyev was drunk during most of his workouts.  Naim Suleymanoglu (pocket Hercules) died of liver failure and was a known drunk.  East European weightlifters drink booze like bodybuilders drink protein drinks.

I can´t see that happening as alcohol dehydrates you badly so you will lose water out the muscles. won´t help you strength wise. People drunk Creatin to keep water in the muscles to lift better so you are infact doing the opposite!

I had the exact opposite experience.  Went in at 4am after drinking and I couldn't even lift half what i normally did.  Could barely press plates, etc and it just felt horrible.  I think the alcohol keeps your muscles from coordinating and robs your strength that way.

Opiates are surprisingly good for working out, I haven't done them in years but you can do cardio forever on them.  Easy to see why nubain was a 'thing'

Working out on hemp based products is fine. Alcohol though makes you soft and causes aromatization  turns all your test into estrogen and dehydrates you no thanks

As an added bonus they increase your resting heart rate to 110 BPM and give you superhuman metabolism.... and the shits.   ;D

Hammered from the night before, in the gym on many SAT AM's unfortunately. (From the FRI night before).
I would grab a 24 oz "Red's Wicked Ale" or similar, guzzle it in gym parking lot (8 AM) just to avoid hangover (basically kept buzz/drunk) until after the gym.

Glad I gave up booze fully, never missed it, never had a craving after 40 years of using (heavily) and quitting suddenly.
(Of course I dont advise cold turkey, as they lectured me after my ambulance ride and overnight hospital stay).  ::) (Heart rate took off to dangerous levels).

Just the thought of it makes me puke in my mouth a bit. Im glad its like that, than what other gin-mills go thru. (The cravings, relapse, etc).

Lol have you ever been drunk af? You can lift anything, but it's not a good idea because it's easy to pull a muscle

I drink only once a week, in moderation, red wine. But in my case it's the opposite, I think my test levels go up from the alcohol, srs

The idea that would be at all ''weaker'' because drunk is absolute bs, if your biceps could curl a 100 lb dumbell for a few good reps while sober, believe me, you can do the same when drunk and maybe a bit more and that's how you rupture a muscle (when drunk you may not feel pain at all)
