I am a man, that trains with weights, regularly

How many grams of protein per meal should I have?

I have 5 meal per day. I am getting over 250 grams of protein per day. Sounds a lot to me. But makes me stronger in the lifts.

Should I instead have tremendous amounts of carbs instead and less protein. How dangerous really is protein?

I think protein i psychologically addictive, and to a lesser degree also physically addictive. It's nerveracking to lower your protein intake. That's the sign.

Sure I could eat nothing at all the question is why the fuck would I want to do that. How much protein is needed depends on how big you are and how active you are and how much carbs and aft you are getting as they are protein sparring. Ironat hit the nail on the head if you are hungry eat

I'd rather find out if you can take protein shakes(with water)/bars and not gain fat though the box says it has zero sugar and zero fat. Even one shake a day seems to add bodyfat for me.

Protein is food like all foods if you eat more than you burn you can get fat. As far as you getting fat from one shake a day you are probably bloated as not everyone digest powders well

I will replace som of the protein with cornmeal and other low protein carb sources and see how that goes.

They say about 0.8 per pound of body weight is fine if at maintenance or above cals. Personally don’t make the effort any more normally have 2 main meals one a decent serving of bacon with toast and the other chicken and rice and drink 3-4 pints of whole milk a day and just eat whatever I like on top and seems to work ok. It’s about balance still need to enjoy life and not feel a twat if your out and all your mates are grabbing some decent bait and you pass to eat the standard bodybuilding shite
