Everyone on the sandbar basically knows one another. The Midgetts have inbread the whole thing.
There's a 24-hour gym in Avon. There are not too many big guys around the OBX. Why? Because usually if a person is doing steroids they gateway into other drugs. The OBX already has a drug problem.
Even before the pandemic no one wanted to work. If the fishing is good or the surf is up, they drop their tools where they are and leave...not kidding.
2022 has been a great year. I rent my house out, prices are doubled, and you know what? People are paying for them. 2023 is already booked and prices are going up even more. To be honest I have no idea how people are doing it...but they are and with a smile on their face.
