Aaron Baker's breakout show: 1992 WBF Championship (3rd place, and $50,000). For all the talk about Strydom supposedly cheating the drug test, if anyone should have been accused of such, it was Baker. He was the only one who showed up BIGGER (as in more muscular in 1992 than he did win 1991).

Everyone else was smaller and/or smoother.

It was only Flex and Muscle Mag as a source then for me but Baker seemed to lost something in the last 6 to 4 weeks leading up to the show.

He was really good up until around that.
Maybe he over dieted, depeleted himself like Yates did at first couple of times.

CRINGEWORTHY...eddie guns was so bad  ,they seemed by there paychecks to make the best of it..1st year they all were great or pretty good to decent, this one was much different..

eddie robinson, guest posing shape look.legs were way down for him.

padilla considering age i guess it was ok to be way off ,good build but not for stage day..

demey looked like a good guest posing look, still his build was great esp 91 show he was stellar.

mike quinn embarrasing shape, persona, skit was so bad .

jim quinn was a beast 91/92

dearth looked small but in great shape ,looked good

baker same as dearth

morant i never got big but just not pro to me .

strydom was awesome in 91 best look he had to date, this show he was smaller /less full,he was last one out and the 3 stooges commentating heenan, mcmahon, platz were raving like he was second coming of christ.they were raving like it was 91 'look'

To put it in perspective, Baker got more for 3rd place at this WBF show than EVERY SINGLE COMPETITOR at the 1992 Mr. Olympia, except champion Dorian Yates.

Remember that the 1991 McMahon commentary on Strydom was a voiceover. I have the WBF Championship video. Mcmahon wasn't on commentary (Tom Platz and some guy named Greg Lewis call the action, as it were). In fact, he's not on the video at all. For the 1991 show footage shown on Bodystars, there's voice-over commentary by Tom Platz and/or Vince McMahon; or there's no commentary at all.

As for the 1992 show, this has to be the worse case of a McMahon PPV gone wrong, except for WrestleMania 36.

Lou Ferrigno bails; Dr. DiPasquale goes hog wild with the drug-testing. "The Phoenix", the late Vince Comeford gets pneumonia and can't compete. Lex Luger almost gets his arm ripped off in a motorcycle accident and can't do the guest posing.

I'd think you'd change your tune about Morant, if you look at how he appeared at the 1990 Night of Champions. He placed 4th behind Danny Padilla, Dorian Yates, and the late Mohammed Benaziza. He also looked better at the 1991 WBF Championship. I think "The Executioner" tried to keep his size and shows up smooth as a result.

I agree with McMahon and Platz that "The JetMan" Tony Pearson should have been in the top 5, instead of David Dearth. I could slightly buy him placing 4th over DeMey.

Pearson maintains that he was drug-free for that show and had been since the IFBB did its lone year of steroid-testing in 1990. He talked about how the WBF guys had to submit a blood test on the spot, if summoned to Titan Tower. If they popped positive, they lost a month's salary.

"Since 1990, I haven't touched anything. And there was no reason for it. You know when I was with the WBF, to make it very clear, Vince (McMahon) wasn't messing around. When he said 'blood test', he mean 'blood test'. They call you overnight. If you flunk the test, you lose your salary for the month. I didn't lose any money. I was always in shape; it was one of my best shapes, 1992, Long Beach, best shape, no drugs! I know how to train. I know my body.", proclaimed the JetMan.

In the 90s all photos were take  through the lens of a potato.
