How do you get a job without a permanent address?

Why have a permanent address and a job and get taxed for both when you get free housing and welfare for being a bum?

Why not give up your job and house if being homeless is so good?

Or I keep what I work for instead of having it stolen from me by a bunch of socialists.

I don't want homeless people arrested or moved along. Don't have laws that hurt them. Also don't have laws that help them. Guys like you seem willing enough to provide charity by choice instead of by law so what do we need government welfare programs for?

List the Walmart parking lot where your BMW is parked?  ;D

I've never been in that situation myself so I don't know for sure. But I see illegals working and they manage it without even speaking English. They presumably have no permanent address, drivers license, social security number etc.

You can’t really solve systemic issues through individual action.  In the US, pretty much everyone is a medical catastrophe away from homelessness.  Get real sick - can’t work - can’t pay rent/mortgage - out on the street you go

Having a lot of homeless people is undeniably a bad thing, one with significant social costs.  Spending some tax dollars and getting these people back into employment and off the streets is a price I’m willing to pay.  I just don’t see what else there is to be done, short of incarceration—which also bears its own costs.

Significantly reducing our military budget of $816,700,000 would free up enough money to reduce taxes on the 99% as well as providing ample resources to care for our fellow citizens.  That’s what I think should be done

It’s not impossible, but that’s a major hurdle to clear and a big reason why “get a job” isn’t feasible for most of these people.

It’s like providing jobs training for convicts - you invest some money into them so that they are able to re-integrate into society and become productive, tax-paying citizens who don’t have to resort to crime.  It’s an investment into our society

Why not just round them up, execute them, and feed them to dog shelters?

Keeping an eye on the local news today to see if someone is dead in local Walmart parking lot.
We parked near a car, the guy or gal was doubled over in the drivers seat, with the car running. Out cold or dead.
When we came out, still in same position. Either drugged, drink or dead.

Wife asked if we should knock on the window to see if OK.
"Nope" I dont want to bother my SUN plans if this person is dead.
Cops might want us to hang around to talk to us, etc...
I got good plans for the day (movies, food, naps, etc) cant let some loser interrupt my SUN...

Here in Vegas the homeless set up 'acommodations' in the underground storm channels and numerous tents and cardboard boxes are seen at the entrances to those drains/cchannels waiting for a vacant spot inside.

I'm not a US history buff but didn't we have a similar problem back in the 1930's when President Rossevelt established a National Recovery Agency which got the homeless off their ass and get to work in places like the High Sierras ....  building dams, water-ways, trails, emergency shelters, etc ....... each of which was so noted by the addition of small metal plaques praising the Recovery program and those involved.

Does this agency still exist? And what the hell are they doing to get these homeless dudes off my front lawn?

My off-base but immediate solution would be to build a huge plant/factory in the desert that would manufacture stuff like vehicle license plates, small automobile parts, etc. and put the homeless to work providing each individual with a cot a mattress and a toothbrush and a 12 hour work-day.

And then allow each individual the opportunity to work their way out.

That worked because back then people wanted to work.  Today they want to take drugs and alcohol and and lay around in a haze with brief moments of lucidity followed by hallucinations wherein they scream at those who do WORK and demand that "we the people" support their poor choices in life.

Fuck 'em.  Fuck 'em all.  And fuck the current bAdministration.  To Hades.

Homeless people are overwhelmingly homeless because they’re hopelessly addicts or mentally ill.

Usually a combination of the two.

No amount of help will change their lot in life.

If you don’t know/accept this, YOU are a major part of the problem.

How much gas money would you have to send through Zelle to power a BMW from Florida to this desert factory?

We should stop sending foreign aid which is squandered by their governments anyway.

We could feed and clothe the entire nation easily.

And keep a healthy defense budget.

Take care of your own home first.

Just the money wasted in Ukraine could solve most our problems here.

And that's just money spent in 1 year.

But they don't want that.

How do you get a job without a permanent address?

Use a family member or friend's address.

I had a good friend who fell on hard times, he lived with me for 3 months while looking for a job.
