So much money invested in these modern gyms.

No wonder they go out of business so often.

Shit I was paying $1200.00 a year at the Uni gym I trained at for 12 years here.....I paid by the month though....60 bucks a pop... I could have paid it all in one lump sum bit I felt like I would be getting raped if I did....better to get fucked monthly than raped anally and annually was my thought.

The gym however was awesome......kind of like Soul Crushers facility.........tons of power racks pre-set on lifting platforms,2 complete sets of dumbells.....one going to 100 pounds the other up to 150 pounds.....awesome GHR machine,Nautilus 4 way neck machine,Nautilus leg curl.....leg press that divided with a slide bolt so that you could train each leg uni-laterally,more Olympic bars and benches that I`ve ever seen in ANY gym and plenty of hot college twats in skimpy clothing, and old blue haired broads, lazy fucks on cell phones, groups of old fucks talking, and skinny dweebs training in groups benching 115 and  screaming, and the ever present ashole reading a newspasper tying up a machine forever.

They called me "the beast" and would quickly give up a machine if I asked to work in....I insisted not to but they always conceded.

I was once doing flyes with the 70 pounders and made some noise on the last few reps and some ancient fuck says....."sounds like he`s cumming"....I yelled across the gym that I had no clue how he remembered how that sounded.....also a bunch of academia snobs.

Not the least bit hardcore until I showed up to train.

I had some fuck stand in front of me when I was squatting 370 for a triple who wanted to converse......I was fuming but she had no clue that`s why she`s still breathing today.  ;D

Now that the scamdemic is over they are letting "townies" back so I hear I will be there  soon as soon as winter breaks......can`t wait to properly train legs again.

I hated it,but I loved it too.

$60/mo x 12 = $720.  ???

Of course a Uni-gym is supported not just by member fees but by the overall tuition fees, public support, donations, and taxpayers (if a public U.)

Back in the early 80s a really great gym I belonged to was $40/mo.

You need a LOT of members to make a gym pay off.

The overhead and investment in modern gyms is HUGE.

1K a year to me is very reasonable, at the right gym of course. And it keeps the Planet Fatness type riff-raff out.
We have a good place we go to, its 1K a year for 2 of us (wife and I) so 500.00 each a year.
For those who use it, well worth the price. I'm in there 6-days a week doing something or other.

If I went to a place that was pricey like that, and it was full of modern day douche-nozzles, then yup, a horrible deal.
Really depends on the place and the clientele...

My math is probably off but I distinctly remember it came to approximately 1200 or so a year.

Now that I have garnered the dreaded senior status even though I`m in my prime... it`ll be a lot less costly.

I`ll be the hardest training senior they ever will see.

The pendulum squat is a fantastic machine that I do shit weight on, but it’s the most natural feeling squat without compressing the spine. For me at least

I love that thing. Can really get a good leg-workout w/ light weight, its  humbling.
Not sure why they are a fad nowadays, the place I was was going to previously, bought theirs in 1999/2000.

Didn't this guy sell a tech company for 9 figures?  I remember Flex Wheeler at his estate in upstate Washington.  Compared to 24 hour fitness trash for $35, that gym is worth $99 a month.

Oh, defnitely worth it.

It's too cheap to stay in business.

If this guy is wealthy, I'm assuming his pockets won't hurt if he has a cheap warehouse gym that just breaks even. California pallets cost as much as sq ft space in Vegas.
