I'm convinced most of these big corps are operating in a vacuum of leadership, and these people putting this sort of stuff into a company culture are going to eventually be the fall guys when things go sideways. It's not far off and trust me when these companies are in the red the last thing the board will be worried about is equal outcomes for inequal inputs.
Many smart upper level people got out/retired during covid and cashed their stock options as soon as the markets went back up.
