Who cares, hes not a poser/bodybuilder... Powerlifter/Strongman...
Honestly his waist looks fine, when relaxed its smaller than yours. No big bulge during his squats.
I have a stomach like that guy (and you). When I flex it, it tightens right up and goes away. (The trick you do).
When relaxed, it looks like yours and that guys (a bit bloated)...
