Foxx was one of the funniest ever! This is a great example of just how far we have fallen in entertainment. It also shows that 50 years ago we were MUCH closer to all getting along regardless of race. The powers that be (fckn hate that term but it’s true) have succeeded in dividing us to damn near a breaking point. The sad thing is that nobody seems to see it. The very people we “hate” are actually on the same side as us. Because whether you believe it or will accept it - we are NOT divided by race or political viewpoints- we are divided into “The very few who control” and the “rest of us”. It’s not even money - having a few million doesn’t make a fckn difference I guarantee you. You have absolutely NO more power than you did when you were scraping by paycheck to paycheck. Of course it takes some stress off, but in the big picture you are still a pebble.
This is a great post.
I think a lot of people of a certain age see it. Younger people don't because they're too young to remember when we weren't so divided.
But even for those that do see it, the message is unrelenting and designed to act on fears/sense of security etc... that even if you're aware of it you can fall into it anyway.
It's difficult to stop yourself from being upset by an article or media report and say "I recognize: my reaction and becoming more prejudiced IS the intended consequence. The only way to defeat it is to relax your world view."
Then you see a comment with the opposite reaction and get pulled in. Ultimately hardening your views.
I think social media is thr majority of the problem.
